Details: This course is an introduction to home defense with a handgun, and includes instruction on how to prepare yourself with appropriate training for a violent confrontation, how to prepare your home to be more resistant to attack, and how to choose a handgun for self-defense. Range drills will assist the student from transitioning from fundamental “Square Range” target shooting to defensive shooting. This course has pre-requisites, which may include a pre-course skills assessment, and which can be fulfilled in a number of ways. Required materials include range gear such as eye/ear protection and note taking materials, a defensive handgun and at least 100 rounds ammunition. Spare magazines or speed loaders are recommended.
