Description: Teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting Course
Length: 16 hrs
Details: Prerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills. Prior to instructor training, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises. Candidates must also complete the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Instructor-Led Training class. The instructor course is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training (BIT) and discipline specific instructor training. BIT is required for all instructor courses but need only be completed at least once every two years (or by instructor’s discretion).
