Christopher Ray

Chris is an NRA certified instructor, NRA certified Range Safety Officer, Utah concealed firearm permit instructor and a USCCA certified concealed carry instructor. Chris is also a certified C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) instructor, and a member of his communities C.E.R.T team. Chris volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America, particularly with firearms shooting activities and assists with range safety duties. He takes great pride in teaching firearms instruction to responsible gun owners. He enjoys spending time with his family and involving them in sport shooting activities. He is married and has two children.

Chris is a retired police officer from the State of Utah. His career consisted that of 911 dispatcher, police officer and deputy sheriff. Throughout his career he held the positions of patrol sergeant, bike patrol, Special Response Team, police honor guard, corrections transport, and Corrections Emergency Response Team. He is the recipient of the Medal of Valor, stemming from an officer involved shooting incident. He is also the recipient of the Police Officer of the Year Award, for the State of Utah, awarded to him by the Utah Chiefs of Police Association. Chris has also been decorated with the Traffic Safety Award and Community Oriented Policing Award.

Chris holds NRA instructor certifications in Basic Pistol, Defensive Pistol, Personal Protection Inside the Home and Personal Protection Outside the Home. Chris normally teaches in southern Utah, in and around St. George and Cedar City.
