Amber Edwards

Amber Edwards is an accomplished shooter, NRA Instructor, and Utah Concealed Firearm Permit Instructor. Amber has been surrounded by experts in defensive shooting for much of her life as she has worked for the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification, the agency that issues Utah Concealed Firearm Permits. Amber was born and raised in Salt Lake County.

In addition to her efforts to educate the public, especially women, about personal protection and firearm safety, Amber also is an accomplished equestrian, and participates in Country English riding competitions. She also jokingly admits that her patience is tested by her recently found interest in gardening. She spends as much time as she can hiking with her dogs, especially on some of her favorite trails in Salt Lake’s Cottonwood Canyons. In the winter, she returns to the canyons to snowboard.

Amber believes in empowerment, and that every woman should have the training and tools to protect herself from a violent encounter. Much like the saying “A husband is not a financial plan”, Amber also believes that “A husband (or boyfriend) is not a safety plan”. In this regard, she courageously leads the way!
